Hearts - work in progress

On the easel today, three 8 x 8" chunky canvases taking the theme started with 'heart' along one stage further. I have sooo many ideas on how to take that simple dotty shape and play with colour, etc. It's been such a popular little painting, even though it was essentially a doodle with what I had to hand one day...
If you are thinking 'wild colours' we actually decorated the lounge of our old house in Bristol in a very similar scheme - bright ochre yellow walls, stripped wood floor, and burnt orange / reddish accessories with 'pops' of bright blue. Our dining room was all pebble greys and taupe and bright sea blue. Our bathroom green. Our hall deep red and slate. Our kitchen bright 1950's yellow and white. Our bedroom lilac and silver. I'm afraid the decor has gone rather cream and 'grown up' these days, but I'm feeling very tempted today to paint something extremely large and VERY colourful to hang somewhere to get a little of the spirit of the 'kaleidoscope house' back.
Hearts to paint, dots to dot, must get back to it...
